Douglas Burns is a writer and columnist for the Daily Times Herald in Carroll, Iowa. Burns is also a co-owner of the newspaper which has been in his family for three generations. The family newspaper operation also owns the Jefferson Herald and the Guthrie County Times Vedette.

Additionally, Burns also writes a regular column, Political Mercury, for Cityview, a Des Moines weekly newspaper.

Burns is a Cedar Rapids native who grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1987 before moving on to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he majored in journalism and graduated in 1991.

Paige Godden is the editor of the Guthrie County Times Vedette in Panora, Iowa. She also writes for the Lake Panorama Times and the Indianola Independent Advocate.

Godden is an award-winning community journalist who covers everything from city councils and school boards to national politics. She is the recipient of several Iowa Newspaper Association awards including the Jay P. Wagner Prize for Young Journalists and the Genevieve Mauck Stoufer Outstanding Young Journalist Award.

Godden is an Algona native. She graduated from Algona High School in 2007. She then attended Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University.
